Happy New Year!! - 2011 is here...

We are praying that 2011 will be a refreshingly good year for our Brothers and Sisters in Haiti.

Recap  of 2010:
- January 12th an earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale
      Over 40 after-shocks of 6.0 or greater
      Over 200,000 died; 300,000 injured
Over 250,000 residences and 30,000 businesses destroyed
Over 1 million people left homeless
- Spring rains came causing flooding in some areas and adding to the damage
- Cholera brought into the country and has claimed over 2,000 lives
- Hurricane Tomas came across parts of the country causing flooding and wind damage
- December Presidential election made for some unhappy people and
     "demonstrations"...

Disaster Relief Efforts (at year's end):
- 131 Wooden homes built
- 6 Concrete Block homes built
- Approximately another 120 homes built through the efforts of House of Blessing
     Orphanage in Calebasse, Haiti
- Dozens of work teams from churches all over helping in the efforts

That is the "year in review"...
THANK YOU, people of God, for responding financially, physically and prayerfully. And we thank the Lord Jesus for blessing the efforts put forth by all.

Now, looking forward...
- Presidential runoff sometime in January with the winner taking office in February
- Work teams continue to be scheduled through May
- Haiti getting back to "normal"-- Who would have ever thought that "getting back to
normal" would mean getting back to being a "third world country"...?...

So, for 2011 -- Pray, PRAY, PRAY!!!
Pray that the country of Haiti will continue to turn to our Lord and that the He will bless those who do, abundantly.
